Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

This position is for an ASM Barbering is part of the Faculty of Business, Design and Service Industries. The role involves teaching on our barbering programmes. As an Academic Staff Member within this team you will be required to teach in the classroom and tutor ākonga; research, review and update resources and classroom materials; set and mark assignments and enter results; assist with the recruitment and care of ākonga; and actively participate in team and school environment. Travel between capumses Mokoia (Rotorua) and Windermere (Tauranga) will be required.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $67,825 up to $81,294, dependent on skills and experience.

The ASM Barbering is based in our Windermere Campus, Toi Ohomai | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Academic Lead and will be responsible for: 

· Delivery of Barbering Programmes

· Providing leadership in student management

· Developing, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource material

· Monitoring student progress and results providing timely and accurate advice and support as required

· Planning and timetabling for the programme as well as assisting with recruitment

· Managing the training salons

· Actively promoting and applying Toi Ohomai Institute of Technology Health and Safety policies

To be successful in this role you will have:

· National qualification in Barbering or equivalent

· A minimum of 5 years industry experience

· In depth experience and knowledge of the Barbering Industry

· Good computer literacy skills
