The Strategy and Planning Manager will lead a team responsible for developing and maintaining a performance measurement framework aligned with Toi Ohomai’s strategic goals. This role provides high-quality insights through data analysis, research, and evaluation to support enhanced ākonga outcomes, operational effectiveness, and educational excellence. It plays a key role in strategic planning, external reporting, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Strategy, Planning and Engagement is a foundational enabling and engaging function at Toi Ohomai, driving strategic alignment, organisational performance, and meaningful engagement across our organisation and communities. This directorate brings together international education, brand and engagement, quality and risk, and strategic planning and insights into a cohesive, team directorate focused on long-term sustainable success. Working collaboratively across Toi Ohomai, with a strong emphasis on data-informed decision-making, continuous improvement, and proactive strategy and planning, it supports transparency, accountability, and responsiveness to change. Through integrated approaches to global engagement, brand visibility, governance, and performance monitoring, the directorate plays a vital role in shaping the direction of Toi Ohomai and ensuring our services reflect the needs of ākonga, kaimahi, and stakeholders.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
- Lead the strategic planning and insights team to deliver actionable insights.
- Develop and review institutional strategic plans aligned with long-term goals.
- Maintain performance measurement frameworks and dashboards.
- Ensure compliance with external reporting requirements (e.g. Annual Report, SDR).
- Monitor trends in education, labour markets, and policy to inform decision-making.
- Collaborate with senior leaders to identify data and reporting needs.
- Lead the development implementation and review of the institutional strategic plans that align with the Toi Ohomai Vision and Mission and long term goals.

You bring:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Social Science, Management or in a related field.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and designing performance metrics.
- Strong analytical and strategic planning capabilities.
- Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Māori success.
- Ability to support te reo Māori, tikanga, and mātauranga Māori.
- A passion for equity, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
