We are seeking a passionate and experienced Programme Manager to lead and deliver high-quality education in our Sport and Health Programmes. This role blends strategic programme management with people leadership, ensuring excellence in teaching, ākonga success, and future-focused curriculum development.
You will manage the planning, delivery, and continuous improvement of the Sport, Fitness, Massage and Health Programmes. You’ll also mentor and support kaiako, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration and innovation. Central to this role is supporting Toi Ohomai’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi, equity, and inclusive, culturally grounded practice.
The salary for this position will range between $110,000–$130,000 as per the Programme Manager band. The final salary will be determined according to skills and experience. This role reports to the Head of School – Health, Education and Environment and is based at either our Windermere Campus in Tauranga or Mokoia Campus in Rotorua.
Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities
• Lead the strategic and operational delivery and development of the Sport and Health Programmes, ensuring academic quality, financial sustainability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with organisational goals.
• Develop, lead and mentor academic staff to enhance teaching practice and learner outcomes.
• Build strong relationships with iwi, hapū, industry, schools and community stakeholders to ensure programme relevance and growth.
• Champion a learner-centred approach, embedding Mātauranga Māori and inclusive practices.
• Contribute to research, innovation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

To thrive in this role, you will bring:
· A Master’s degree in a relevant discipline or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· A relevant teaching qualification and evidence of ongoing professional development.
· Proven experience in tertiary education, programme leadership, and team management.
· Strong understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to Māori success.
· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organisational skills.
