Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for an energetic person to join our team as a Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard. This role is key in enhancing our members wellness and maintaining the facility on a day to day basis. This is a permanent, full-time position. Maintaining ongoing relationships with kaimahi (staff), ākonga (students) and manuhiri (visitors) to the facility is crucial therefore, experience in dealing with customers is a must.

The appointing salary for this role will be between $52,000 up to $56,000, dependent on skills and experience.

The Fitness Instructor and Lifeguard position is based in our Windemere Campus, Tauranga, Toi Ohomai | Te Pūkenga reporting to the Aquatic Centre Manager and will be responsible for: 

  • Running group fitness sessions,      programming for users
  • Gym and Pool maintenance
  • Lifeguarding
  • Reception duties
  • Supervision of the centre

To be successful in this role you will have:

· A minimum certificate level 4 is essential in fitness, personal training, exercise, coaching or sport and recreation

· Excellent communication skills, particularly at an interpersonal level

· Good customer service skills

· Superb motivational skills

· Ability and willingness to support teaching staff in and around the fitness centre environment
