In order to assist in capitalising on these assets, Toi Ohomai is seeking a dynamic and progressive professional to coordinate our global initiatives and grow our international profile and reputation.

This teaching role will be at Toi Ohomai Childcare Centre on the Windermere Campus in Tauranga. The Early Childhood Centre operates five days a week for children of students, staff and the local community. The centre provides high quality education and care, catering for the individual needs of children and whānau in an atmosphere that is warm, accepting and welcoming. 

We are searching for the right person to join our caring, motivated, and professional team of kaiako. The right person will be fully qualified, registered, be passionate about the education of infants and toddlers and an enthusiastic team member. This is a permanent position.

Reporting to the childcare Team Leader and Head Teacher, this role will contribute significantly to success of the centre by:

  • Being a teacher who is committed to the best practice in Early Childhood Education
  • Establishing and maintaining effective professional relationships focused on the learning and wellbeing of all akonga
  • Demonstrating commitment to the bicultural partnership in Aotearoa New Zealand.
  • Promoting a collaborative, inclusive and supportive learning environment. 
  • Demonstrating in practice knowledge and understanding of how akonga learn.

Key to your success in this role will be your demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively in a team environment and committed to providing quality care and education for young children. New graduates are welcome to apply.

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor of Teaching (ECE) or equivalent
  • Teacher Registration
  • First Aid Certificate (full programme)
  • Experience working with infants and toddlers
