  • Permanent, Part-time (0.6FTE)
  • Based at Windermere Campus, Tauranga (some working from home an option for the right applicant)

This position is for an Academic Staff Member within the Construction and Engineering Team in the Faculty of Primary Industries, Trades and Infrastructure. This role will involve teaching Surveying students on our Surveying Diploma Programme. 

As an Academic Staff Member within this team, you will be required to deliver online with some in class teaching; mentor students; research, review, and update resources and classroom materials; set and mark assessments and enter results; assist with the recruitment and care of students; and actively participate in the team and school environment.

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Delivery of Surveying Diploma courses (levels 5 and 6) - Cadastral Surveying, Geodetic Surveying, Land Administration, Engineering Surveying, Geographic Information Systems.
  • Providing leadership in student management
  • Developing, planning and implementing student assessment, courses and resource material
  • Monitoring student progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required 

About you / He kōrero mōu 

As the ideal applicant, you will have:   

  • A National Diploma in Surveying or NZ Certificate in Surveying or a degree-level equivalent
  • At least 5 years of recent NZ Surveying industry experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
