Remuneration: $65,286 - $87,211 (Fixed remuneration excluding Kiwisaver)

Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About the Role

We have one full time fixed term position available for an Academic Staff Member (Food and Beverage) within the Tourism and Hospitality team in the Academic Delivery and Development Directorate.  The role involves teaching on New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage (level 3)  Within this role you will contribute to developing future industry leaders through teaching in the baking kitchen, classroom and online; researching; creating, reviewing, and updating resources and teaching materials; assessing ākonga (student) work; assisting with the recruitment and care of ākonga (student); and actively participating in the team and institution environment.

Ngā mahi | Key Responsibilities

• Delivery of the New Zealand Certificate in Food and Beverage (Level 3) Programme

• Providing leadership in ākonga (student) management 

• Develop and deliver effective partnerships with key stakeholders 

• Use a learner-centred approach to facilitate the learning of diverse ākonga (student) 

• Developing, planning and implementing ākonga (student) assessment, courses and resource material 

• Monitoring ākonga (student) progress and results and providing timely and accurate advice and support as required  

He kōrero mōu | About You

You bring:

• A trade qualification in Hospitality (level 5) or equivalent industry experience

• Five years of experience on the hospitality industry (Food and Beverage service including Barista)

• Skills and/or qualifications in adult teaching (highly advantageous)

• Importantly you will be able to demonstrate strong alignment and commitment to our Toi Ohomai values
